2012 WSOP Poker Room Satellites
With the popularity of poker since 2003, every year the World Series of Poker has seen an increase in attendance to the Main Event. And since poker has just taken off, most of the faces that you see win these huge events are "nobodies" or unknowns in the various poker circles. These players are people who have won through various satellites for what could be considered pocket change in relation to the prizes that they win.
Having seen this, many online poker rooms have tried to capitalize on this trend by offering satellites to not only the Main Event, but also events all over the world. To joke lightly, how many things can you buy with a dime nowadays? Well, by playing at Ultimate Bet it could win you a seat to the Main Event which not only will possibly earn you $10 million for first place, but possibly another $10 million for wearing their apparel and winning the whole thing.
One of the most popular and cheapest ways to get to the WSOP Main Event is through step tourneys. Step tourneys have become quite popular and you will find that many people favor them because of the ROI that they get by playing them. You do not have to actually win the top prize to increase your ROI in a step tourney.
This is because the difference between the first and second step is in some cases a difference of $20 or more. By playing in the first step and investing $7.50, you turned it into $25+ dollars by winning and advancing. Another great way to look at this is to look at all the times you could have busted out but simply retried that step or moved down versus having to buy in again.
Now that you know some of the great options that are offered by various sites, we would like to show you the top 4 online poker sites that will help you get to the Main Event.
PokerStars WSOP Satellites for 2012
PokerStars is one of the biggest sites out there that is sending players to the WSOP. Only makes sense since about half the winners in the last couple years have been apart of the Pro Team at PokerStars. They offer several ways to get there as well. You can use up those spare FPPs that you have saved up and buy in for as little as 40 FPPs to win a seat to the FPP final. Upon winning the FPP final, you will then be whisked off to Las Vegas.
Another option is by using a little bit of money. Similar to the option at Ultimate Bet, you can try one of PokerStars step tourneys. Although the buy ins does not start out as low as Ultimate Bet, there are fewer of them to advance through. PokerStars step tourneys start at $7.50 or 500 Fpps and you only have to play through 6 steps before you are on your way to the Main Event. The last option that PokerStars offers is several single or multi table sit n goes or shootouts. The buy ins for these start at $2 with re-buys and the highest buy in being $1,050. If you happen to win a seat through PokerStars and win the Main Event, they will pay you a $1 million dollar bonus.
