PokerStars vs Full Tilt Poker 2012
When you think of playing online poker what sites immediately pop into your head? PokerStars.com and Full Tilt Poker would be the correct answer. These two online poker rooms are the largest and best poker rooms on the Internet today. Both PokerStars and Full Tilt have huge player bases and have thousands of poker games running 24 hours a day.
We have put together a little PokerStars vs. Full Tilt Poker matchup article here that will show you who we believe is the better of the two poker rooms. We will break things down into different categories and show the positives and the negatives of these two powerhouse poker rooms. Because both PokerStars and Full Tilt are great options for playing online poker, ultimately, you will have to make the decision on which one is best for you.
PokerStars vs Full Tilt Poker: Player Activity
In terms of how many players play poker at the two sites; PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker are clearly the top 2 sites around. PokerStars dominates Full Tilt in terms of sheer activity and player volume though. PokerStars seems to have between double and triple the number of active players month to month than Full Tilt does.
For years both of these sites have been the leaders in terms of number of players. Like we mentioned earlier, you will never struggle to find games at either one of these sites. But if you are truly looking for the MOST action out there, PokerStars brings you the most player activity by a landslide.
PokerStars vs Full Tilt Poker: Software
Both PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker have great software powering their online poker room. If you like more of the "cartoonish" look you will prefer the look and feel of Full Tilt. Full Tilt software gives players all the graphics you can imagine. PokerStars also provides very graphical looking table and lobby, but not quite as much as Full Tilt.
Both sites run extremely fast and the game play has no lag what so ever. Both Full Tile and PokerStars give players the ability to resize their table and provide very easy navigation from the lobby into the poker game itself. One thing we do like about PokerStars is they give the ability to "personalize" your table with your own icon. Kind of cool but is it really necessary? In the end, I don't think we can pick a winner on software. Both sites are great and it's a true personal preference which one you like better.
PokerStars vs Full Tilt Poker: Games
Both sites offer an absurd amount of games for their players to play. But we are going to give Full Tilt Poker the nod in this category for one simple reason: Rush Poker. Full Tilt Poker recently released a cutting edge, fast paced, version of poker that they deemed Rush Poker. This has really helped Full Tilt gain some momentum on PokerStars in terms of traffic as of late.
Here is a deeper look at some of the other games offered by Full Tilt Poker (this is not all-encompassing): Texas Hold’em (all varieties), Omaha, Omaha hi-lo, Stud, Stud hi-lo, Razz, HO, HA, HORSE, HOSE, Rush Poker, and many more.
As for PokerStars, their list of games is very similar: NL Texas Hold’em, FL Texas Hold’em, PL Texas Hold’em, Omaha (normal and hi-low), Stud, Razz, 5 card draw, 2-7 triple draw and other random mixed games.
If you love poker you can surely find a game you love at either Full Tilt or PokerStars. But if you haven’t tried Rush Poker, it’s reason enough to sign up today and start playing at Full Tilt Poker.
PokerStars vs Full Tilt Poker: Bonus Details
The welcome bonus at both sites is nearly identical. Both Full Tilt and PokerStars offer new players a first deposit bonus of 100% up to $600. They both have very similar terms regarding when the bonus is released and how many hands need to be played. Full Tilt has a slightly shorter “expiration time” where the bonus will expire but this is nothing to get alarmed about. Both of these bonuses are huge in the industry and you’d be crazy not to take advantage of both of them in our opinion.
PokerStars vs Full Tilt Poker: The Rest
There is not much to talk about in terms of customer support between the two poker giants. Both PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker offer great customer support. They are very responsive and high class with all their answers. We have heard a few complaints on occasion about Full Tilt’s support slacking a bit but have never experienced it first hand.
Likewise, both sites offer very similar deposits and withdrawal methods. The time it takes to receive a check or payment is nearly identical in our experiences as well. The tournaments offered by both PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker is great as well. Both sites have huge turnouts for their tournaments and often times have satellites into larger tournaments, including the WSOP.
So overall who wins this epic battle between PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker? We are going to give the slight edge to PokerStars based solely on the fact that a very large number of people choose it over Full Tilt Poker. You honestly can’t go wrong with either site and quite honestly should have an account at both. Get signed up for both below and take advantage of their great bonus offers.
